We hold four members meetings a year, usually at the Bristol Aerospace Welfare Association (BAWA), Southmead Road, Filton, Bristol starting at 7.30pm. The next meeing will be on the 22 July, check the web site for details of the speaker.

Please come along and get an update on the groups activities and give your ideas on how you would like PROSPECT to proceed in 2010/11. Any volunteers to join the committee would be gratefully received.

Welcome to Prospect – a support group for prostate cancer patients, their wives, partners and carers.

Prospect is run by prostate cancer survivors for the benefit of the local community.

Prospect’s aim is to create a friendly and supportive network to:

•  Provide a local informal group for meeting other prostate cancer patients, where  individual experiences of treatments and their side effects can be exchanged.

•  Keep patients in touch with medical professionals so that they have an up- to-date knowledge of medical developments and changes in the local arrangements for treatment.

•  Raise awareness of prostate cancer and encourage all men over 50 to request an annual PSA check.

•  Offer support to men who suspect that they may have prostate cancer or have been diagnosed with the disease and feel that they need more information or support to decide the best way forward.

•  Champion the cause of prostate cancer patients.

We have found that knowledge is very much to the benefit of the patient. This enables him to play an active part in the decision making process, for example in selecting the best treatment.

We offer a friendly welcome - come and join us

Are you just diagnosed or do you suspect that you may have prostate cancer? then call Mike Ashford on 01934 626799 now.

This site has been compiled by Prostate Cancer survivors.  We do not claim to have specialist knowledge other than that gained by Prostate Cancer patients during the course of their treatment.
